Not long ago my wife and I were on our way home from a friends birthday party. It was a fun night, we had good food and drinks plus plenty of laughs. It had been raining all that day so my friends plans for an outdoor event did not work out. On the way home the closer we got to the mountain range where we live I heard loud thunder and saw dazzling lightning flashes in the distance. The sound of thunder is caused by lightning. Depending on the distance and nature of the lightning, thunder can range from a sharp crack to a long low rumble. The sudden increase in pressure and temperature from lightning produces rapid expansion of the air surrounding and within a bolt of lightning. In turn, this expansion of air creates a sonic shock wave, similar to a sonic boom, which produces the sound of thunder. Storms are awesome, I love the sheer power and beauty of nature. Yes storms can be very destructive but so are we. Science is real folks and I love it, this painting is a 6" x 6" oil on canvas....$200 shipping included.
Abstract compositions are so free and non conforming. They appeal to my free spirited nature and I am consumed by the process of this style. Mixing just to right amount of pigment and applying them is the most fun. I enjoy watching a canvas come to life while contemplating my next stroke. It's hard not to be impulsive while meandering through a large canvas like this one. Oh well on my way to Mexico today which means I'll have to leave my studio for a couple of days. This is painting is a 72" x 30" oil on canvas....$4,200
I love rain forests, they are known as the "jewels of the earth", they are also the worlds largest pharmacy. Over one quarter of all natural medicines have been discovered in rain forests. Tropical and temperate rain forests may still contain millions of species of plants, insects and microorganisms still undiscovered by outsiders. Indigenous people have known for centuries how to live in these magical places. Lush, green, and full of life rain forests produce trillions of tons of oxygen. They are also considered the lungs of the planet. We need to take better care of our forests. It is estimated that rain forests produce enough fruit each year to feed the entire planet. This painting is a 38" x 36" acrylic on canvas with resin....$3,200
The majestic beauty of the Amazon river is also the life pulse of South America. It, like so many places on the planet needs to be protected. I love wild natural undeveloped places and would love to see them all. The vivid color, texture, sights, sounds and bewildering array of life of the Amazon stimulates my creativity in so many ways. I love the soothing composition and movement in this painting. 40" x 30" acrylic on canvas with resin....$3,200
Sometimes I like to do small paintings which are usually florals. I had some time and thought I would try my new technique on a small canvas just to get a feel for it. Now I'm going to experiment with different surfaces just for a change of pace. I love working on canvas but I want to see how the medium works out on something like masonite. This painting is a 6" x 6" acrylic on canvas with resin....Sold.
