So I was finishing this little sax player up and the wife comes into the studio all "hangry" and asks what's for dinner? So I said how about eating this painting, then things really got interesting. Needless to say I made a fabulous dinner for her and even went out and got her a snickers candy bar....$925 Oil on canvas with a hand made maple wood frame.
A few years ago I went to Rocky Point Mexico, my wife and I use to own a condo on the beach there. We took some good friends and had a great weekend getaway. One night after dinner we turned on the television and to our delight Elton John was doing a live show on HBO. Right away the visual of him sitting at this enormous baby grand piano just sent me into creative overdrive. Immediately this image began pounding into my head. I had just finished a commission with this style and was excited to continue with this style. I used thick layers of paint. Impasto is the technique i used on this. I love the joyfulness of this composition. It took a couple of months to complete because of it's size and at the time I was preparing for a show. This painting is in my private collection. The dimensions are 72" x 60" its oil on canvas. It would be very hard to part with this one.
